Wine Club Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Crocker & Starr Winery is seeking a motivated individual to join their Team in the role of Wine Club Manager. The Wine Club Manager is responsible for building strong relationships with our Casali Club Members, and driving growth and retention per the company goals. The Wine Club Manager will report directly to the Executive Director and ultimately the President of the Company.
JOB SUMMARY:
Primary Responsibilities – Wine Club
- Responsible for the continued development of the wine club program, member growth and retention per the company goals.
- Research and understand the members and seek-out ways to assist in the development and implementation of member touchpoints and recognition programs.
- Manage annual calendar which includes processing all orders for club and general allocation.
- Lead phone sales efforts post club release and general allocation offer in a timely fashion.
- Track wine club metrics, coordinate reports to Finance Manager.
- Primary lead for club tours and tastings. Develop and maintain relationships by providing exceptional and memorable customer experience.
- Market and promote private new and unique member experiences.
- Implement and coordinate wine club events, club release parties, and other special events as required of the position.
Secondary Responsibilities
Crocker & Starr is a small winery that works together as a Team achieving the following:
- Aggressively and respectfully move direct sales. Meet sales goals as established by the company. Understand and work towards goals using the company financials.
- Coordinate and conduct private tours and tastings on the Estate property. Focus on conversions of customers to club memberships and increase average order value.
- Manage the entire customer experience – from first phone call to tour/tasting through order fulfillment. Adapt the Crocker & Starr standard of doing business.
- Master customer management computer programs, order processing and order fulfillment. Systems includes but not limited to Vin65, Vinovisit, Shipcompliant, outlook, excel, internet based order tracking.
- Assist in outreach programs and be a liaison to specialty drivers, concierges, destination companies and fellow winery hospitality referral leads. Keep Crocker & Starr high on their list to schedule visits with us with their most exclusive customers.
- Follow up with members and customers to ensure satisfaction with the Crocker & Starr experience.
- Maintain buyer information on all customers for a more personalized and professional exchange using systems current and in development within the Crocker & Starr office.
- Assist in accurately managing inventory (includes warehouse, physical, winery), work with current inventory protocol and contribute to the development of better management systems.
- Stay current with business trends in the industry and network with others in the trade to promote Crocker& Starr. Make adjustments to member/customer experience as needed. Communicate industry changes to the Crocker & Starr Team and impact the evolution of our member/guest experience in a positive, measurable fashion.
- Convert every potential customer into a Crocker & Starr loyal fan and wine club member.
QUALIFICATIONS and ATTRIBUTES:
The successful candidate will possess the following competencies and attributes:
- Minimum 2 years assisting or managing a Wine Club with a track record of successful sales.
- Strong customer service and hospitality skills in engaging and hosting members/guest.
- Excellent listener and communicator with professional written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong written communication skills in email marketing.
- History of effective time management. Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to multitask.
- Professional in demeanor and appearance. A mature, dependable and responsible wine professional with sound judgment and the highest of ethical standards.
- Interest and experience in working in an entrepreneurial, small, business environment.
- A proactive and thoughtful team player with a can-do attitude.
- Computer savvy with an eye for detail.
- Proficient in Vin65/WineDirect and ShipCompliant, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Flexible schedule including weekends and occasional evenings for special events.
- Able to lift 50 + pounds and at least 21 years of age.
- We are looking for a smart, friendly and happy person who has excellent social skills.
EDUCATION
An undergraduate degree is preferred with 5 years background in customer service/relations, hospitality, wine club, and special events. Two years previous wine club experience which include growth and retention programs, required.
COMPENSATION
Compensation will depend on experience. Base compensation plus sales commission. Full-time employees of Crocker & Starr are able to participate in a standard employee benefits package – insurance, vacation, 401k program.
