Description:

The Lowcountry Careers Collaborative (LCC) is an initiative developed by the Charleston Chamber Foundation through the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce (the Chamber), in partnership with a community advocacy organization and a key employer in the focused industry sector. The program will bridge historical gaps in representation within workforce development to ignite inclusive and equitable growth that is equally beneficial to industries, the economy, and workers. We are committed to developing an equity-centric, employer-led approach that builds upon our existing regional training systems to offer pathways to higher-level careers. Federal grant funds have been awarded to support and amplify the program and we seek staff to align with the needs of the grant, as well as existing and future grant opportunities the foundation may manage. The Data Analyst & Research Director will gather and analyze data from various databases and sources, performing statistical and /or mathematical programming, surveying, developing reports and visual representations, and developing and/or maintaining databases. The Data Analyst & Research Director of the Chamber Foundation will work closely with our partners, Educate, Empower and Elevate (E3 Foundation) and Roper St Francis Healthcare.

Responsibilities:

·         Ensures function and role is aligned to the programmatic needs and outcomes of the Lowcountry Careers Collaborative (LCC).

·         Collaborate with Grants Officer to ensure data collection processes and data collection systems are developed to support the LCC’s programmatic outcomes

·         Consistently stays abreast of all aspects and any changes in the programs’ data collection requirements and works with Grants Compliance Manager to ensure compliance requirements.

·         Assists the Grants Officer with grant renewals and new funding requests, including the review and analysis of outcomes and data.

·         Researches and compiles regional data related to workforce, education, economy, demographics, and other key findings

·         Support the formation of the Center for Economic Prosperity and a regional framework for a deeper understanding of regional trends, challenges and opportunities.

·         Identify and understand problems through forecasting, gap analysis, quantitative reporting, research, and statistical analysis

·         Analyze data using statistical or mathematical software to generate descriptive statistics and develop statistical models and graphics

·         Delivers reports and presentations of findings to management and/or executive leadership

·         Interpret data analysis results and draw inferences and conclusions

·         Evaluate research needs and use advanced techniques for efficient statistical programming and analysis

·         Use data visualization tools to compile, share and present data results

·         Other projects as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications:

1.       Mission-Oriented, with a personal drive to serve the community

2.       Experience with analytics platforms such as Tableu, Lightcast, Power BI, etc.

3.       Experience with statistical computer applications such as SPSS

4.       Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Marketing, Economics, Business, Information Science, Non-Profit Management, or related fields

5.       2+ years of applied research, data analysis, data management, business/systems analysis, a plus

6.       Knowledge of data collection methods

7.       Ability to perform statistical analysis

8.       Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

9. Ability to maintain confidentiality

10. Excellent written and verbal communications skills

11. Working in face-to-face customer service environment and demonstrating a strong ability to understand and effectively respond to customer needs

LANGUAGE SKILLS

§  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or budget reports.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

§  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Work Environment

§  This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

§  Position Type and Expected Hours of Work*
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
