Seeking a self-starter, independent, detail-oriented, and community-focused person, to manage the 11th Annual Neighborhood Institute (NI), a Strong City Baltimore signature annual networking and skill-building event. The Neighborhood Institute aims to provide community residents, neighborhood leaders and community development professionals with the training they need to build on assets and tackle challenges big and small. The Neighborhood Institute Manager is the primary staff person responsible for coordinating the planning, content, outreach, fundraising, and marketing for this event. The Institute will likely happen in September of 2019, and aims to bring together a diverse group of engaged community members, and will take in at least $50,000 of revenue.
Responsibilities include developing workshops, presenter and community outreach, marketing the event, volunteer recruitment, and oversight of all logistical aspects of the day-long Institute. The NI Manager will complete analysis and evaluate the success of the event, and recommend appropriate follow-up training for future engagement with neighborhood leaders. Applicants will need to “hit the ground” running to complete all required activities over the next seven months.
Seeking a start date as soon as possible and the salary range is $42,000-$50,000, commensurate with experience. The application period will be open until the right candidate is identified.
