Objective:

A scrum master is the facilitator for a product development team that uses scrum for a development methodology that allows a team to self-organize and make changes quickly. The scrum master is responsible for: (1) Helping the team to reach consensus for what can be achieved during a specific period of time. (2) Helping the team to reach consensus during the daily scrum. (3) Helping the team to stay focused and follow the agreed-upon rules for daily scrums. (4) Removing obstacles that are impeding the team's progress. (5) Follow all rules of the scrum process.

 

 Essential Duties:

- Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.

- Guiding the team on how to get the most of self organization.

- Guiding the team on self organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks.

- Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.

- Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.

- Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving.

- Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.

- Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.

- Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information

- Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.

- Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example.

 

 

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent in education and experience.

- 2+ years of experience in a market-facing software and enterprise solutions product role.

- Significant knowledge of industry product lines around HCM, Payroll, Timekeeping, and Benefits technologies is a plus.

- Ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams to accomplish project goals.

- Must be capable of managing multiple stakeholders on the best course of action for the product.

- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills required.

- Excellent Multi Tasking skills are required.

- Must be a strong collaborator, team player as well as an individual contributor.
