Cashiers / Baristas / Food Runner / Bussers / Line Cooks
Blu Jam Cafe is ready to open back its doors and we are actively looking for a group of charismatic individuals to make up our All-Star team!
We are currently hiring for the following hourly (plus tips!) positions at our Sherman Oaks location:
Cashiers (Part-Time)
Baristas (Part-Time)
Food Runner / Bussers (Part-Time)
Line Cooks (Full-Time)
Requirements for all candidates:
Ability to flourish in a fast-paced & high-stress environment.
Radiant positive energy, outgoing personality with a friendly demeanor who loves to work with people.
Professional sense of humor.
Open to cross-training for multiple functions of the restaurant.
Strong work ethic, responsible, punctual, and accountable.
Willing to learn, be coached, and follow instructions.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Must be able to stand and walk for a minimum of 5 hours.
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers and guests.
Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Have proper documentation to work in the U.S.
Cashier:
At least 1 year experience in the quick service / fast casual restaurant industry.
Possess P.O.S computer skills (Aloha preferred).
Must have a Food Handler's Card, or be able to obtain one within 30-days of hire.
Knowledgeable of health department standards and sanitation processes.
Have the ability to handle financial transactions.
Proven knowledge of basic math skills.
Must be committed to excellent customer service.
Baristas:
Have at least 1 year of experience making excellent coffee, latte, and espresso beverages.
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Managing and organizing take-out orders.
Upbeat personality providing exceptional customer service.
Must have a Food Handler's Card, or be able to obtain one within 30-days of hire.
Knowledgeable of health department standards and sanitation processes.
Have effective communications skills.
Cafe latte art skills and gourmet food knowledge are a plus.
Food Runner / Busser:
Have at least 1 year of experience in a high-volume restaurant
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must have a Food Handler’s Card, or be able to obtain one within 30-days of hire.
Knowledgeable of health department standards and sanitation processes.
Be able to properly clear and sanitize tables.
Deliver food to corresponding guests in a calm and timely manner.
Have effective communication skills.
Line Cook:
Have 2-3 years commercial kitchen experience (breakfast is a plus).
Have a positive can-do attitude, be honest, hardworking, and a team player.
Must have a Food Handler’s Card, or be able to obtain one within 30-days of hire.
Be knowledgeable of health department standards and sanitation processes.
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Attention to detail and cleanliness.
Sense of urgency while handling high volume orders in a calm manner.
Maintain adequate ticket times.
Ability to withstand a heated cooking environment.
Be able to properly read ticket orders.
