About Morse:

We’ve been in the drum handling business since 1923, helping businesses move, mix, and manage 55-gallon drums safely and efficiently. From hand trucks and mobile handlers to forklift attachments and heavy-duty equipment (up to 2,500 lbs!), we’ve got solutions for just about every drum-handling need—available in stainless steel and spark-resistant options too.

At Morse Manufacturing, we take pride in building reliable equipment and backing it up with solid service. We’re a team that’s always looking to do better, build smarter, and support our customers—and each other—every step of the way.

About the Product Development Engineer Role:

Are you a hands-on engineer who loves turning ideas into real products? We're looking for a Product Development Engineer to join our team! This role is perfect for someone with a strong mechanical background, solid CAD skills, and a passion for innovation and problem-solving.

You’ll be at the heart of our product design and development—working on everything from new product ideas to improving existing ones, supporting customers, and helping keep our engineering systems running smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Design & Development (30%)

  • Lead product development and improvement projects
  • Dive into competitor research and talk with suppliers to improve designs and processes

SolidWorks & PDM Management (25%)

  • Own our 3D modeling (SolidWorks) and PDM system
  • Create and maintain drawings, part diagrams, marketing images, and stress analysis files

Technical Support (15%)

  • Help customers and dealers with product questions and troubleshooting
  • Work with internal teams to answer technical and sales-related questions

Engineering Database Management (15%)

  • Manage bills of materials, part numbers, revisions, and manuals
  • Keep our PICK database clean, accurate, and up to date

Custom Projects (15%)

  • Work directly with customers to design and quote custom products
  • Follow each project from idea to production and make sure everything’s documented

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in a mechanical engineering role
  • Strong skills in SolidWorks and working in a PDM environment
  • Comfort working with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Adobe tools
  • Great communication skills—you’ll be talking to everyone from customers to coworkers
  • A knack for staying organized and juggling multiple projects at once
  • Someone who’s analytical, detail-oriented, and ready to problem-solve

The Work Environment:

You’ll spend most of your time in the office, with some time on the shop floor testing products or working with production. It’s a desk-heavy job, but there’s just enough hands-on work to keep things interesting. You may occasionally lift up to 25 lbs during product testing.
