Role Description
The Industrial Engineer supports the Production Control organization by analyzing, designing, implementing, and optimizing processes, workflows, and systems that improve operational efficiency, production flow, cost performance, and schedule adherence. Working within the Production Control function, the Industrial Engineer applies industrial engineering, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and data-driven methodologies to identify constraints, eliminate waste, improve resource utilization, and strengthen the execution of production objectives. This position works closely with Scheduling, Production Planning, Material Planning, Production Control, Production, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and other functional teams to evaluate operational performance, develop practical process improvements, establish performance measures, and support the successful execution of aircraft completion and production requirements.
Essential Job Functions
· Analyzes existing production control processes, workflows, systems, and operating practices to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, constraints, and opportunities for improvement.
· Develops and implements process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and other industrial engineering methodologies.
· Analyzes production flow and operational requirements to improve the movement of work, materials, information, and resources throughout the production process.
· Develops and maintains data analysis tools, dashboards, reports, and performance metrics to monitor schedule adherence, production performance, material availability, resource utilization, and on-time delivery.
· Collects, validates, analyzes, and interprets production and operational data to support fact-based decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Identifies trends, recurring constraints, process variation, and performance gaps and develops recommendations to improve operational results.
· Collaborates with Scheduling, Production Planning, Material Planning, and Production Control to ensure processes, systems, and workflows are aligned and consistently executed.
· Partners with Production, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and other functional departments to identify and resolve cross-functional production constraints.
· Supports capacity analysis, resource planning, workflow analysis, and production optimization activities.
· Develops process maps, value-stream maps, workflow diagrams, and other analytical tools to evaluate current-state and future-state processes.
· Supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, process standards, and best practices within the Production Control organization.
· Conducts root-cause analyses and develops corrective and preventive actions for recurring operational issues and performance gaps.
· Participates in cross-functional improvement teams and leads or supports projects designed to improve productivity, schedule performance, quality, cost, and operational efficiency.
· Develops project plans, establishes improvement objectives, tracks progress, and measures results for assigned continuous improvement initiatives.
· Evaluates the effectiveness of implemented process improvements and uses performance data to determine whether additional corrective actions or adjustments are required.
· Identifies opportunities to reduce operational costs, improve resource utilization, reduce process waste, and increase production capacity.
· Supports the development and implementation of operational KPIs and performance measurement systems.
· Prepares and presents reports, analyses, dashboards, root-cause findings, and improvement project results to management and cross-functional stakeholders.
· Supports change management initiatives by helping define process impacts, develop implementation plans, communicate changes, and monitor adoption.
· Provides analytical and technical support to Production Control leadership in evaluating operational risks, schedule impacts, resource constraints, and improvement opportunities.
· Assists with the evaluation and implementation of technology, systems, and tools that improve production control visibility, data accuracy, workflow management, and operational decision-making.
· Identifies opportunities to standardize processes and improve consistency across Production Control and related operational functions.
· Promotes a culture of data-driven decision-making, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
· Maintains appropriate documentation of analyses, process changes, improvement projects, and performance results.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field required.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, process improvement, operations analysis, or a related discipline.
· Experience in aerospace, aviation, MRO, aircraft completion, manufacturing, or other complex production environments preferred.
· Demonstrated experience analyzing production processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing measurable process improvements.
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, root-cause analysis, and process optimization methodologies.
· Experience developing and utilizing data analysis tools, dashboards, performance metrics, and operational reporting.
· Experience with process mapping, workflow analysis, capacity analysis, or similar industrial engineering techniques.
· Experience working in cross-functional project teams and supporting change initiatives.
Required Skills and Abilities
· Strong understanding of industrial engineering principles, process improvement methodologies, and production operations.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate operational data into actionable recommendations.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools; experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence platforms preferred.
· Ability to develop and maintain dashboards, reports, KPIs, and other performance measurement tools.
· Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
· Ability to develop process maps, workflow diagrams, value-stream maps, and other process analysis tools.
· Strong understanding of production flow, capacity, resource utilization, material availability, and schedule performance.
· Ability to identify process constraints and develop practical solutions that can be implemented in an operational environment.
· Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple improvement initiatives and priorities.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to present technical and analytical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Work Environment
· This position works primarily in an office environment but regularly interacts with Production Control, Production, Planning, Materials, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and other operational departments.
· The position requires frequent interaction with production and aircraft completion activities and may require work in aircraft hangars, production areas, warehouses, and other operational environments to observe processes, collect data, validate process changes, and support improvement initiatives.
· The position may be exposed to aircraft, machinery, tools, equipment, varying temperatures, elevated noise levels, and other conditions associated with aircraft completion and maintenance operations.
· Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand aviation environment.
· Extended periods working at a computer.
