 FORKLIFT OPERATOR JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY

Operate industrial forklift equipped to move materials around lumberyard, as well as loading and unloading truck trailers.

JOB DUTIES

1.)                 Move controls, levers, and devises to drive industrial forklifts to transport materials between loading, unloading,                      processing and storage areas.

2.)                 Organize and secure materials where bunks, boxes, sacks, pallets, and other materials are stored.

3.)                 Perform routine pre and post inspections on forklift equipment to ensure forklift equipment is operating well.

4.)                 Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devises.

5.)                 Complete forklift operator training annually, provided by company.

6.)                 Consult and work with managers, supervisors, employees, and equipment manufactures to coordinate loading                       and unloading operations.

7.)                 Complete other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager.

8.)                 Be able to lift 50-100 Lbs.  

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

1.)                 High school diploma or general education degree, one year of experience in operating a forklift, and forklift                     certification; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

2.)                 Current Michigan Drivers License
