Position Summary:

The Engineering Technician will support the development, manufacturing, and testing of Nuclein’s diagnostic medical devices. Working closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams, the individual will be responsible for executing various technical tasks, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring smooth operations within the engineering department.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to assemble, test, and troubleshoot prototype devices and equipment.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to perform routine tasks, such as component assembly, calibration, and quality control testing.
  • Conduct testing and verification activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the setup and operation of test equipment, including data acquisition systems, measurement tools, and software.
  • Maintain accurate records of test results, observations, and equipment maintenance activities.
  • Support the engineering team in the design and implementation of experiments and product improvements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Assist in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and research and development, to address technical issues and implement solutions.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

 Qualifications:

  • Associate's (2-year) degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an engineering technician or a similar technical role.
  • Strong technical aptitude and hands-on experience with assembling and troubleshooting electronic and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment, measurement tools, and data acquisition systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and documentation.
  • Basic understanding of quality control principles and processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with medical device development or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality management systems (ISO 13485, FDA QSR) is desirable.
