We are seeking a Deep Tissue and Medical Massage Therapist to join our Health Center team. Our Licensed Acupuncturists refer patients with specific health conditions and challenges to our massage team and other therapists.

  • If referred massage client is from a Licensed Acupuncturist, meet with the LAc to determine health care goals and treatment plans that are applicable to the massage session and treatment plan.
  • Before the massage begins, the therapist should confer with clients and learn their medical history and what problems they may have with stress or pain. This helps to determine what type of massage would be the most beneficial.
  • The massage therapist must gauge the condition of the client’s soft tissues, the joint function and quality, range of motion, and muscle strength.
  • The therapist must propose a specific treatment plan for the client.
  • When the client’s needs have been established, the massage therapist massages the soft tissues and muscles to provide the treatment that has been determined.
  • The therapist prepares and blends massage oils and applies them during the massage.
  • The therapist may often need to refer a client to different types of therapists if his or her condition would benefit from it.
  • The therapist must be willing to learn about the different modalities (i.e. acupuncture, cupping, guasha, moxa, etc) that are used at our Center and offer recommendations based on a client's needs.
  • The therapist will educate clients on how to improve their posture and teach them strengthening, stretching, and rehabilitative exercises as well as relaxation techniques.
  • The therapist will write soap notes for each client at each visit.
  • The therapist will write up the client's health goals and treatment plan and give this to the Front Desk team to forward to the client.
  • The therapist will follow up via phone call with  the client within 1-2 days of their session.
  • The therapist will be a part of supporting return clients and encouraging them to stay on treatment plans.
  • The therapist will be available for 2-3 evenings each week and Saturdays, working at least 5 hour shifts.
  • The therapist will attend monthly meetings and participate in health events on and off site.
