Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable Payroll Clerk in support of our HR/Payroll team. The Payroll Clerk will assist in the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll for our growing employee population while ensuring compliance with all company policies, federal, state, and local regulations.  This role also assists with personnel record maintenance, supports various HR functions, and maintains confidentiality and organization within the HR office. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and verify timecards and time clock adjustments.
  • Monitor and track PTO balances, attendance records, and any leave-related documentation.
  • Ensure proper calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions.
  • Assist with garnishments, child support, and other mandatory deductions.
  • Collaborate with HR on onboarding and termination payroll actions.
  • Maintain accurate payroll files and records.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Support payroll tax reporting and audits as requested.
  • Assist HR team during open enrollment and benefit processing as well as other special projects and duties within HR as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or relevant coursework in HR, Accounting or Business preferred.
  • 1–2 years of payroll or accounting experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); and familiarity with payroll software and timekeeping systems a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confidentiality and integrity are essential.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
