Food Rescue Team 2026
The Food Rescue team provides daily administrative support and frontline service for the No More Starving Artists (NMSA) food rescue program using the shopify e-commerce platform to distribute free groceries and supplies to professional artists and members of the public. Working in small groups, youth in these roles develop confidence and begin to master skills used in their participation in the workplace.
This full-time summer employment contract ranges from 8 -16 weeks, May through to September. Post-secondary students are welcomed and encouraged to apply for this position as part of their programs requirements for a co-op or work placement. Contracts are funded by the Government of Canada, and offered at the Ontario minimum wage. Please be aware that all positions may not be funded in all locations.
This is an onsite position. Training and Workshops may be online or in-person, as needed.
Positions:
Food Rescue Coordinator
Food Rescue Coordinators liaise with our established partners to secure donated food items; distribute food and supplies; and maintain proper standards in accordance with Public Health Regulations.
Food Handlers
Food Handlers inspect, inventory and pack orders of food and supplies at the Canadian Musicians Cooperative head office in Barrie, and maintain proper standards in accordance with Public Health Regulations.
Food Rescue Driver
Food Rescue Drivers liaise with and drive to our established partners to secure donated food items, maintain proper standards in accordance with Public Health Regulations.
Typical Work Hours:
Regular hours Monday - Saturday
Occasional evenings as scheduled.
Certificates/Qualifications:
Food Handlers Certificate (asset)
Valid Driver’s License (asset)
Access to a reliable vehicle between 7:30am and 10am (asset)
