FT VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT & SUPPORT SPECIALIST (LEX)

TITLE: Volunteer Engagement & Support Specialist Reports to: Volunteer Services Manager
Classification/FLSA Status: Full-time, Non-exempt Location: Based out of Lexington Office
Salary: $30,000-$33,000 Annually
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Volunteer Engagement & Support Specialist is responsible for duties relating to the development and retention of volunteers and girl members including the conversion of leads interested in joining Girl Scouts into registered girl and adult members. They provide leadership and support, to train and recognize volunteers and girl members. They develop resources and curricula to guide the direction of council-wide task groups and volunteer committees.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Cross Council collaboration to develop and/or update training modules/curriculum for volunteers.

Provide council-wide support for membership and programs.

Develop, cultivate, and support relationships with volunteers that expand Girl Scout programming.

Keep current on organizational knowledge and best practices by participating in GSUSA content such as: webinars, “Chatter†groups, and utilizing “gsConnectâ€(Training in these sites/systems provided)

Serve as a resource for volunteers regarding council and GSUSA policies, procedures, safety, and paperwork

Guide potential adult and girl members on the Salesforce pipeline through conversion by phone calls, emails, etc.

Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity in a timely fashion.

Coordinate the placement of registered girls into appropriate troops.

Coordinate the placement of registered adults into appropriate volunteer roles.

Assist registered adults through the Criminal Background Check process.

Works with cross-functional team to determine or develop innovative techniques to ensure the effective delivery of recruitment and retention strategies.

Works collaboratively with all Council departments to ensure council program and initiatives are marketed to girl and adult membership for volunteer support, recruitment, and retention.

Provide professional, superior customer service to all internal and external customers, members, volunteers, staff, and other community contacts in person, electronically and by phone.

Active participation in the development of environments that foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and access through words, actions, and attitude.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s or 4 years of equivalent experience

Experience using customer management systems, Salesforce experience a plus.
Experience in membership development, recruitment and/or retention preferred
