Projects will vary in type and scale, but will focus on integrated water strategies for public, private, and institutions throughout the country. Projects include water master planning, water balance modeling, rainwater harvesting, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and water reuse.  Biohabitats is known for our system integration, high performance sustainable infrastructure, and use of nature based solutions.


The Environmental Engineering Technician or Senior Engineer Technician will work closely with our other Senior Engineering Technician, Project Managers, and Technical Lead. Tasks may include design, preparation of construction documents (drawings and specifications), as well as , construction administration of water infrastructure projects. The successful candidate is highly motivated and technically skilled, possesses a technical aptitude with strong written and verbal skills, and is passionate about integrating ecology and design. It is highly recommended applicants have at least 2 years’ industry experience, but we are open to working with candidates with a wide range of experiences. Role & Responsibilities

Lead and support a wide range of integrated water strategy projects, including water supply, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, rain harvesting, and water reuse systems.

Prepare design and construction documents (drawings and specifications).

Construction administration and oversight services, including field installation and observation.

Oversight of system start-up, implementation, operation, and maintenance.

Operations procedure setup and management for wastewater, greywater, and rain harvesting systems.


Required Skills 

Knowledge of pumps, meters, valves, piping systems, instrumentation, controls, etc.

Ability to size and specify water infrastructure equipment.

Knowledge of water supply, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, rain harvesting, and/or water reuse systems.

Experience assisting with design and construction documentation, including plans and specifications.


Helpful Skills& Preferred Training 

Use of AutoCAD for the development of design plans.

Experience with Civil3D, GIS software, and other environmental/hydrology software.

Wastewater process engineering experience.

Experience with MBBR's, constructed wetlands, sand filters, trickling filters, UV, and/or ozone components.

Experience in design coordination between CAD/production team members and design engineers.

Cost estimating experience.

Technical writing experience.

Technical training in Computer-Aided 2D and 3D Design.

Water budget modeling.

Enjoys travel!


Education 

B.S. in related field (such as Environmental, Mechanical, or Water Resources Engineering) or equivalent knowledge/experience

Salary

$65,000 or higher, based on experience


Location
