Job Responsibilities:

As a Sous Chef, you will:

👋 Create a Welcoming Experience – Provide a warm, knowledgeable, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere for residents, staff, and guests.
🍽️ Prepare Quality Meals – Prepare food according to guest requests and standardized recipes to support a positive dining experience.
👨‍🍳 Lead the Kitchen – Organize and lead culinary and stewarding teams while holding staff accountable for daily responsibilities.
Support Leadership – Act as the culinary leader in the kitchen during the Chef’s absence.
📖 Train & Develop – Develop, teach, and maintain recipes and culinary techniques.
💬 Communicate Effectively – Work closely with culinary staff, leadership, and other departments to support smooth operations.
📋 Ensure Food Safety & Quality – Ensure proper receiving, storage, temperature control, and rotation of food products in compliance with Health Department regulations and TOTR protocols.
🧼 Maintain Cleanliness – Supervise daily cleaning and sanitation of kitchen equipment, counters, and walk-in/reach-in coolers.
📦 Manage Ingredients – Source, order, and receive high-quality ingredients while adhering to cost and quality control procedures.
🛠️ Maintain Equipment – Ensure proper use of kitchen equipment and report repair needs to the Chef and Maintenance/Engineering teams.
📅 Support Menu Planning – Assist with menu planning and food service operations.


Qualifications:

✔ Minimum of five (5) years prior cooking experience in a restaurant, deli, or other food preparation environment
✔ Current ServSafe Food Service Manager Certification
✔ Strong knowledge of hot and cold food preparation, sanitation standards, and health codes
✔ Proven ability to lead teams and maintain accountability
✔ Comfortable working in confined spaces and extreme temperature ranges
✔ Team-focused leader with a positive and professional attitude
