As a Job Cost Accountant, you will play a key role in tracking and analyzing construction and development project costs, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting project managers with budget management. JOB ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist in tracking and recording project costs across multiple developments
- Prepare and maintain job cost reports and variance analyses
- Support monthly close processes and reconcile job cost accounts
- Collaborate with project managers to monitor budgets and forecast expenditures
- Review and process invoices, purchase orders, and change order
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
- Assist with audits and financial reporting as needed
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS/ABILITIES
· BS/ BA Degree from an accredited institution with a Finance & Accounting focus.
· Minimum of 3 years experience in real estate accounting; job cost preferred.
· Experience with MRI, or similar accounting software, is preferred
· Microsoft Office software suite proficiency required, including advanced Excel proficiency.
· Effective oral and written communication skills; excellent accuracy/proofreading and attention to detail in all work products.
· Proficiency and consistency with prioritizing workload, multitasking, working independently and meeting work deadlines.
· Experience with drafting policy, procedures and workflows.
· Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities.
· Flexibility to assist on ad-hoc projects or assignments and utilize critical thinking for problem resolution is needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMNETS:
This position is performed in an office setting with extended periods of sitting and computer/keyboard use; reading documents; spreadsheet calculations; phone and other electronic equipment. Typing dexterity needed; minimal lifting (<20 lbs.).
