We are seeking a Restaurant Cooks Workers to join our dedicated kitchen staff! You will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in our professional kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare all served food
- Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours
- Memorize, record, and comprehend menu items, abbreviations, plate appearance, and portions
- Follow standard recipes and special diet orders
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances
JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Listening: Prep cooks need to be able to hear and understand specific instructions from their chefs.
- Manual Dexterity: Prep cooks will be using their hands to cut and chop food, as well as other tasks.
- Stamina: Everyone in the kitchen works long hours on their feet over hot stoves and grills. Stamina is needed.
- Teamwork: Prep cooks are part of a team, and in a stressful, fast-paced environment, being a team player and level-headed will help immensely.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in cooking, culinary arts, or other related fields
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well in teams
- Fluent Chinese/English is a plus
