Jr. Staff Accountant

Position Summary

The Jr. Staff Accountant position is an entry level position and is an integral part of our Finance Department.  This position applies the principles of accounting to compute, classify and analyze financial information. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation.
  • Performs other accounting, financial and administrative tasks.
  • Manage expense reporting for sales reps and office personnel to include timely submission and budget adherence.
  • Weekly expense report entry into accounting system and monthly reconciliation.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Assist in yearly 1099 reporting.
  • Assist in item, vendor and distributor setup in Great Plains Dynamics and on the Abita website.
  • Assist in brand registrations for federal and state governments.
  • Assist in licensing and permit renewals federally, locally and statewide.
  • Assist in the purchasing of POS inventory items to be sold online and in our retail shop.
  • Work with sales staff and VIP when reporting issues arise.
  • Provide depletion and other sales reports to sales staff on a weekly basis and as needed.

  •  Monday – Friday; hours may vary (typical work week = 45 hours). 
  • Position requires sitting, standing, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting products and supplies weighing 65 pounds.
  • Work with office equipment such as computers, phones, fax machines and copiers.

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or other related field is required.
  • Two or more years of experience in in Accounting or Finance.  A combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternative.
  • Knowledge of computers (Word, Excel, Outlook) and an ability to quickly learn new software.
