Supervisor Support Specialist
I. JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting the consumer/supervisor in maintaining their self-directed personal assistant services to ensure independence within the community. This position acts as a support system to the consumer supervisor and is responsible for resolving any issues that may arise.
II. DUTIES
Communicates with each consumer on caseload at least once every 30 days by phone and once every 3 to 6 months in person on home visits.
Receives referrals and schedules appointments to meet with consumers and explain the CDPAS program to them.
Trains consumers by going through the CDPAS training manual with them to make them aware of how to find attendants, go through the hiring process, complete weekly time sheets, prevent Medicaid fraud, complete disciplines, and accident reports, etc.
Audits and processes timesheets for each consumer ensuring proper procedure in identifying Medicaid fraud.
Refers consumer to proper agencies to assist with applying for Medicaid, Pooled Trust programs, Loan Closet, etc.
Attends long-term care council meeting for each county to stay informed with issues or new programs within the long-term care population.
Attends county meetings to stay up to date on the status of each of the consumers on the caseload with that county.
Communicates with each county and Managed Care Organization to maintain current prior authorizations for each consumer.
Completes 30 days and 67-day notification letters for each consumer whose prior authorization will be expiring within that timeframe to ensure that there will be no lapse in service or billing issues.
Tracks consumer billing authorization.
Assists supervisor with the re-authorization process.
Ensures proper documentation of case notes.
Performs other duties as assigned.

This position does not have any regular responsibility for the work of others.

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Intermediate
Ability to learn company in-house software Basic

The Job Duties are representative of the essential functions of the position. The physical requirements for this position are those typically present in normal office environment conditions.
VI. WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment with moderate to light noise. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
VII. Qualifications
Education Requirements
Minimum Associate’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Sociology, or related field required Bachelor’s preferred
Must be fluent in speaking Spanish
Experience Requirements
One (1) to three (3) years working with the disability community
