Health Information Management Internship

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Currently enrolled in a program seeking certification in H.I.M.

DUTIES:

• Release of information to persons or agencies according to regulations.
• Process patient admission or discharge documents.
• Retrieve patient medical records for physicians or other hospital staff.
• Organize and process health information data by ensuring its quality, accuracy, and integrity in both paper and electronic systems.
• Provide auditing of health information related to provider data, dates of procedures, patient identifiable information, and data entry timeliness.
