Scientist.com is a rapidly-growing company that runs research outsourcing marketplaces for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.  This platform is an “Amazon-like” marketplace focused on drug discovery services to accelerate our client’s research pipelines.  Scientist.com is a hub that consolidates and streamlines the legal, accounting, and purchasing processes for our clients and suppliers alike.  

 

This immediate full-time position will connect with and engage US and European research suppliers, including contract research organizations (CROs), academic core facilities, and other life science research suppliers. The core focus of a supplier relations manager is the identification, engagement, onboarding, and ongoing management of suppliers new to, or within, the platform.  This individual will provide demos to new vendors interested in signing up on the system, and manage ongoing relationships with vendors already signed up (issue resolution and training).  

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reach out to existing suppliers by email, phone, and potentially onsite at supplier facility

  • Help identify and sign up new suppliers, and present Scientist.com’s features/benefits

  • Run regular online training sessions for new and existing suppliers

  • Troubleshoot supplier problems

  • Develop a deep understanding of the platform’s functionality

  • Run onsite training sessions, as appropriate

  • Present summaries at routine team meetings

Job Requirements:

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Degree in a scientific field or business discipline (or equivalent work experience)
* Some flexibility in work hours (for contacting suppliers in other countries) 
* Detail-oriented and self-motivated

* Working proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* Chinese, Japanese, or German language is a plus, but not required. 

 

Location: Preference for the US East Coast (with focus on New Jersey or Boston, MA)

Work Hours: Early mornings (7-9 am EST or earlier) may be required to work with European clients. Otherwise, work hours are flexible.  

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in sales & marketing (or similar discipline) with strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and pitching skills.
