with and works directly with appraisers and lenders, maintaining an independent
role, as needed to obtain all necessary information about the request to
evaluate the appraisal.
training and experience in ordering and reviewing appraisals that comply with
FNMA is required. Formal training and
certification as a State Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser is
preferred. Working knowledge of appraisal methodology, USPAP guidelines, FNMA
guidelines and understanding various residential and commercial appraisal
reports, is a must. A State General Real
Estate Certification is a plus. Multi-state
certifications, real estate broker and/or licensed general contractor
experience is a plus.
Experience: A minimum of three years’ experience as
a real estate appraiser or three years of experience in ordering and reviewing
appraisals for a financial institution is highly preferred. Experience in a banking or financial
institution, with emphasis on real estate lending and/or credit administration,
and management experience is a plus.
Skills: Position requires either appraisal experience
and/or experience in ordering and reviewing appraisals, solid analytical skills,
ability to manage time, prioritize and organize tasks, and work within defined
timeframes. Requires excellent interpersonal
skills, the ability to manage time, work with various internal and external
contacts, and written and oral communication skills. Must be proficient with personal computer and
knowledgeable of various software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel
and other imaging software.
Scope of Decisions: Position
requires solid independent judgment, discretion and reasoning on a daily basis
to perform sound assessment of appraisals.
