Assistant Director of Human Resources

Job Summary:

Under minimal supervision, performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in functional areas such as: recruitment, training, and development.

 Job Duties:

  • Supervise exempt and non-exempt Human Resource staff.
  • Recruitment: Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and non-exempt personnel, interns, and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career pathing program, writes and places advertisements. Pre-screens potential employees and maintains applicant file for non-CDPAS employees.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Responds to all inquiries regarding recruitment.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. Maintains company organization charts.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Any additional tasks or projects as assigned by the Director of Human Resources. 


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required, Masters Degree preferred.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years experience in HR or related area.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Effective customer Service skills desired.
  • Effective verbal, written, and listening skills required. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills needed to deal with diverse groups of individuals.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, self-directed and able to effectively research and solve problems.
  • Must be well organized.
  • Needs to be proficient in computer software programs, especially Excel and Word of MS Office Suite, Email, and ADP.
  • Effective customer service or human service skills are beneficial to this position.
  • Appropriate telephone skills and a professional demeanor required as you are dealing with confidential employee information

 Essential Functions/Physical Requirements:

The Job Duties are representative of the essential functions of the position. The physical requirements for this position are those typically present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Reliable transportation is necessary as there may be local day business travel required of this position.
