Army Logistics University (ALU) Staff & Faculty Instructor

FITT Scientific is seeking experienced Staff & Faculty Instructors to teach at the Army Logistics University at Fort Lee, VA.

General:  Conduct performance oriented training using the TRADOC approved Program of Instruction (POI) and in compliance with the TO defined instructor to student ratios, and equipment to student ratios. Duties include:

(1) Prepare classroom or training areas and pick-up and return training devices as needed

(2) Train to the industry standard as it conducts classroom / laboratory / seminar / conference / discussion / lecture / demonstration / practical exercise per class training schedule

(3) Maintain the POI and lesson plans by incorporating lessons learned from specific/relevant training and AARs, doctrine; current and evolving Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) into the POI via Training Development Capability (TDC) or follow-on systems

(4) Assist in conducting and assessing student critiques to identify strengths, weaknesses, and actions to improve performance

(5) Schedule and conduct remedial training and student retests

(6) Maintain and update a class status chart and logs reflecting number of students in training and class progression

(7) Review and summarize student course critique, schedule remedial training as needed

(8) Conduct academic counseling

(9) Assist in grading written tests

(10) Assist in grading results performance tests

(11) Review and grade homework projects, and assist in the preparation of student written evaluation upon student graduation for certain courses

(12) Review student news releases

(13) Review a student's record for progression

(14) Make entries on student record of training form

(15) Complete Training Quality Reports and complete reports on students identified as receiving deficient training

(16) Prepare, process and forward required training records and/or any additional documentation IAW AR 350-1, TR 350-6, TR 350-10, TR 350-18, TR 350-36, TR 350-70, and School /  organization’s policies and procedures on student release prior to graduation.

Specific:  Instructors shall meet training, technical and tactical certification of course content, and document experience level requirements as defined in the Course Management Plan of the course they are contracted to deliver.  Service providers must have, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree or two years of Staff and Faculty Instructor experience in lieu of the degree requirement.  Instructors must possess outstanding communication skills (verbal and nonverbal). Service providers must be knowledgeable of applicable regulations and doctrine regarding military instructor/facilitator and staff and faculty training.  These regulations include TRADOC 350-6, 350-10, 350-70 and TP 525-8-2 (Army Learning Concept). Work experience includes teaching/facilitating and reviewing, updating course materials and using training aids and manuals.  All training provided by the contractor shall be IAW the publications located in the base contract at Section C-6, applicable TRADOC POI and or appropriate DoD regulations and guidance.

Preference will be given to candidates who are completely certified at the time of application.  Instructors are required to have certification in the following prior to teaching:

1. Advanced Basic Instructor Course (ABIC)

2. Intermediate Facilitation Skills Course (IFSC)

3. Training Development Capability (TDC)

Additional Skills: The most competitive candidates will possess outstanding instructional and communicative skills (verbal & nonverbal).  Instructors must be proficient with MS office computer programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and ensure ability to access all required training tools.

Education/Experience:  A bachelor’s degree or two years of Staff and Faculty Instructor experience in lieu of the degree requirement.  12 years or more active/reserve military experience.

Primary duty location is at Fort Lee, VA.

Physical:  Instructor personnel must be able to perform duties regarding moderate lifting (not to exceed 45 lbs), long period of standing, sitting or walking, and endure inclement weather conditions on occasion.
