Project Manager - Homebuilding
GFO Home is a homebuilder start-up, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, beginning operations in Austin during the Summer of 2018 with future growth plans to enter additional markets within the next five to seven years. GFO’s leadership team has over 60 years of home building experience including land acquisition, project management, homebuilding operations, sales and finance and accounting. Our Principal’s previous homebuilding venture successfully entered six different markets and grew organically to over 400 closings annually per market.
GFO Home is in the need of an experienced, entrepreneurial Homebuilding Project Manager who has the ability drive company profits and wants to be a part of Austin’s fastest growing home builder. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the activities of all homebuilding projects within a single community, ensuring construction schedules are met, safety standards are surpassed, SWPPP is effectively managed and ensuring our company’s quality standards and customer satisfaction goals are achieved. You will be responsible for the customer experience from permit to closing.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the customer experience throughout the construction process while working side by side your sales professional
- Be an entrepreneurial business partner alongside your sales professional to build strong gross margin and asset turn; Create and implement construction build schedules to achieve best in class build times;
- Coordinate, in conjunction with the Purchasing team, the use and implementation of Build Pro for scheduling, task approval and vendor payments;
- Identification, selection, and management of labor trades used throughout the build cycle; Build strong, sustainable relationships of trust with our trade base to drive competitive, efficient homebuilding construction timelines;
- The ability to problem solve and “think outside of the box” will be instrumental in the success of a Project Manager;
Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- the ability to work with an entrepreneurial attitude with very little supervision; the ability to set goals and achieve them will be instrumental;
- minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business, Construction Sciences or equivalent field;
- minimum of ten years homebuilding construction management experience required;
- strong understanding of municipal permitting requirements and local building codes;
- the ability to read blueprints, work off redline adjustments and execute changes in the field
