ALU Logistics Life Cycle Management Instructor and Training Developer

FITT Scientific is seeking experienced Logistics Life Cycle Managers to instruct and develop Provisioning course materials at the Army Logistics University at Fort Lee, VA. 

 

Background:  The Army Logistics University (ALU) College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE)’s mission: Train, Educate, and Develop Army and Joint leaders in Logistics, Contracting, and Operations Research systems Analysis. The primary objective of Army provisioning is to ensure that end to end supply support activity (for spares and repair parts) is developed in concert with weapon systems and/or end items, and is appropriately reflected in the item’s life cycle provisioning plan. Currently, Provisioning training and career development is disparate and markedly different among the various LCMCs. AMC directed the standardization and institutionalization of this career development through ALU and CPCE, with structured utilization of graduates in provisioning assignments at the LCMCs. CPCE requires additional development and instruction faculty to quickly respond to AMC’s requirement to establish an institutional Provisioning curriculum within the requested timeframe, meet TRADOC standards of education, meet all applicable accreditation standards, and to exploit opportunities presented by recent DA Civilian career path-mapping initiatives.

General:  The Instructor and Training Developer will provide support services for the CPCE Enterprise Logistics Committee to train Department of the Army (DA) Civilians and military personnel to the highest institutionalized standard in delivering Provisioning services for secondary & major items management for the Army Materiel Command (AMC) Life Cycle Management Commands (LCMCs).

 

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

The Instructor/Developer will be responsible for continuous course development and for conducting adult learning (facilitation) for DA Civilians and military personnel, training for Army Provisioning. The objective of this effort is to successfully develop the curriculum as programmed, and educate the number of students assigned per year through the Structured Manning Decision Review (SMDR) process in accordance with Government defined instructor to student ratios. Instructors/developer services are needed to provide augmentation to the ELog Committee faculty in providing accredited performance-oriented course development and adult education on Provisioning, as directed. Currently this Provisioning course is using a pilot Program of Instruction (POI) and lesson plans modeled after the AMC Army Missile Command (AMCOM) 7-week Provisioning course, and is still in the early stages of development (pilot phase). The Instructor/Developer will assist the Government in developing a TRADOC-approved POI and related lesson plans, and deliver the facilitated adult-education instruction to the planned student populations.

The instruction provided will consist of classroom training, hands-on performance-oriented training, and/or simulation/virtual training. Additionally, the Instructor/Developer will assist in updating student and instructor records, student counseling, and administrative duties in support of the required training. The Instructor/Developer will assist in course development by providing immediate feedback (within five days of instruction) to the designated Government personnel and approved by ELog Committee leadership; and assisting in updating technical content of lesson material. The Instructor/Developer shall also participate as a SME in developing revisions of the POIs, Lesson Plans and Training Support Packages (TSPs) to remedy any deficiencies or shortcomings identified during the preparation for and conduct of instruction.

Classes will be taught to DA Civilians and military personnel assigned to multiple Life Cycle Management Commands: Aviation & Missile Command (AMCOM), Huntsville, Alabama Aberdeen, Proving Grounds, Aberdeen Maryland (CECOM) and Tank and Automotive Command, (Warren Michigan), Warren Michigan.

Contractor will assist in developing and instructing the current Provisioning Course at Aviation & Missile Command. Contractor will use resources and tools from TACOM, CECOM and AMCOM developing the three week Provisioning Training Course at ALU. The contractor will work with Government using the Training Package model, and assist the Government in developing the long-term curriculum for the standardized/institutionalized Army Provisioning course for ALU. Development of course material consists of lesson plan development (including instruction delivery methods, reading materials, practical exercises, etc.); POIs; Individual Student Assessment Plan (ISAP); Course Management Plan (CMP); as well as any additional TRADOC-required documentation as directed. All active TRADOC POIs and lesson plans must be input to the “system of record”: the Training Development Capability, or TDC tool. These active POIs and lesson plans must meet TRADOC Regulation 350-70 standards; the contractor will ensure all development within TDC is initiated with the Composite Risk Management (CRM) option turned on for review, revision, or creation of new materials.

Additional:  Instructor/Developer will have requirement to travel periodically to other Life Cycle Management Command locations to conduct course and to execute on-site course development efforts.

Preference will be given to candidates who are completely certified at the time of application.  Instructors are required to have certification in the following prior to teaching:

1.  Advanced Basic Instructor Course (ABIC)

2.  or, Faculty Development Program (FDP1)

Additional Skills: The most competitive candidates will possess outstanding instructional and communicative skills (verbal & nonverbal).  Instructors must be proficient with MS office computer programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and ensure ability to access all required training tools.

Education/Experience:  Bachelor’s degree; three (3) years’ Life Cycle Management experience; one (1) year teaching experience teaching, developing or reviewing course material, training aids, and acquisition procedures.

Primary duty location is at Fort Lee, VA.  Travel is Required.
