Description

The cost accountant responsible for recordkeeping and reporting of standard and project costs. It is required to continually drive process improvement and controls for costing to guarantee systems and processes are always more effective and efficient. Must perform typical month-end closing activities such as preparing schedules for external audit review, inventory reserve calculations, capitalized labor and overhead.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cost data
  • Uphold Capitalized Labor and Overhead
  • Calculate Excess and Obsolete Inventory Reserve
  • Analyze and Prepare the valuation and reporting  of month end/ year-end  inventory close requirements to meet deadlines
  • Review and maintain system controls and integrity
  • Develop cost management systems to provide strong internal controls
  • Analyzing various spending schedules such as vendor returns, scrap, salvage credits  and other indirect spending
  • Ad-hoc reporting

 

Requirements  

  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience
    • 5+ years of general ledger, month-end close and reconciliation in an ERP environment           experience
    • Bachelor Degree
    • Experience in project/custom based manufacturing industry
    • Knowledge of US GAAP
    • SOX experience
