Delivery Driver - YOUR OWN VEHICLE - FedEx Contractor - Raleigh, NC
Raleigh, NC FedEx Contractor seeks safe and experienced delivery drivers to operate their PRIVATE VEHICLES for deliveries to local homes and businesses. Candidates who are hired will undergo a training period that will relate to the operation of company technology (package scanners) and safe driver training.
Background Requirements
You must have an excellent driving record in order to apply for this position.
You must have reliable transportation as you will be responsible for using your own vehicle to make deliveries.
You must be able to pass a criminal background check. Passing a background criminal background check means you have no misdemeanor record related to theft, violence or drugs and you have no felony conviction of any nature.
You must be a person of strong moral character who is honest, trustworthy and treats colleagues and customers with professional respect.
Applicants who make it through initial screening will be invited for an interview where you will fill out an online application for a background check. You will first receive a phone call to explain the process.
Salary
You will be compensated per stop. The company will not cover the cost of fuel in your vehicle, nor any maintenance related matters to your vehicle, however the per stop compensation will take into consideration your costs for fuel and ware and tear on your vehicle. Per stop rate will be discussed with candidates expressing interest who also have vehicles large enough to carry packages.
Work Week
Our business operates seven days a week,.. Most employees work 6 days, some 5 days, but specific days are negotiable.
You will be responsible for delivering a variety of packages, mostly under 5lbs, to customers homes in specific geographic areas of Raleigh, NC...you WILL NOT be driving all over Wake County to multiple locations. The majority of your work will be completed in specific areas/neighborhoods of Raleigh. You may be required to make return trips to the terminal facility to deliver additional freight. You will likely have no less than 75 -100 stops per day. During Christmas season, there will be a need for a higher number of stops. You will need to have a vehicle, like an SUV or enclosed truck that you can easily access multiple small and medium-sized packages. After your last stop, you are "off the clock" and there is no need to return to the terminal unless you have freight you could not deliver.
