Job purpose
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Digital Marketing and Fundraising Coordinator plays a key role in increasing CDCD’s brand visibility, with a strong focus on website oversight, social media strategy, and content creation. In addition to digital engagement, the role assists with leading CDCD’s fundraising initiatives and donor communications, helping to strengthen relationships and drive support for the agency’s mission. This position blends creativity with analytics to manage online communications, execute fundraising strategies, and grow the organization’s digital presence across multiple platforms.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Using client-centered, anti-oppression, anti-racism, trauma-informed, gender-based analysis plus+ and strength-based approaches, build relationships and establish rapport with the communities CDCD serves, partners and key donors that support the work we do.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and protection of sensitive information related to donors, community partners, vendors, staff, and clients across all digital, marketing and fundraising communications.
  • Promote a high-functioning teamwork environment that is inclusive, harmonious, cooperative, efficient and productive.
  • Participate in promoting a positive workplace culture through agency committee membership and departmental activities.
  • Contribute to and co-lead (where applicable) CDCD’s Social Media, Communications and Fundraising committees.
  • Work collaboratively with department managers and leads and follow general direction and instructions from personnel overseeing CDCD’s Social Media and Fundraising. 
Graphic Design & Content Creation
  • Design AODA compliant, visually engaging flyers, brochures, banners, AGM booklets, and other marketing materials for CDCD’s events, programs and departments ensuring alignment with CDCD’s brand guidelines and visual identity.
  • Work closely with departmental leads to develop infographics, impact reports and social media content, incorporating feedback and ensuring materials meet program goals and brand standards before final approval and upload.
  • Ensure all marketing materials maintain content accuracy, visual consistency and uniformity across all CDCD departments
  • Create and maintain a library of reusable templates for flyers, brochures, social media posts, presentations, and other promotional materials.
Video Production & Event Coverage
  • Attend events, program workshops and sessions, and with client consent, capture live content, conduct interviews, and shoot video footage that highlights CDCD’s community impact and key initiatives.
  • Create and edit short or long-form videos including Instagram Reels, YouTube content, and internal videos ensuring all content is engaging, brand-aligned, and accessible.
  • Collaborate with departments to plan and produce video content that supports outreach, informational, promotional and fundraising goals.
  • Ensure all video content is edited for clarity, accessibility (e.g., captions), offers multilingual options, and optimized for various platforms.
Website Management 
  • Upload program, service, event-related promotional materials, and client testimonials to CDCD’s website after review and approval by respective Management. Upload marketing material co-developed with and approved by CDCD’s internal committee leads and working groups.
  • Populate CDCD’s monthly online and internal event calendars in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update CDCD’s website by implementing content provided by agency departments, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational standards, with approval from the department managers.
  • Ensure the website remains fully AODA compliant and optimized for accessibility, while maintaining a user-friendly experience across mobile devices and various internet browsers (MS Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Safari).
  • Liaise with CDCD’s Digital marketing contact, with approval from the Executive Director, to address any technical issues and recommend remedies/plug-ins that can continue to enhance CDCD’s website. 
Social Media Management 
  • Ensure consistent messaging across all CDCD platforms (Website, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google Ads, and YouTube) to effectively communicate services, activities, and opportunities to service users, partners, the public, and funders.
  • Monitor CDCD’s online presence across social media platforms, addressing inappropriate or harmful content in line with the organization’s community guidelines.
  • Retweet key partner messaging, especially ones that promote social awareness campaigns and days of recognition. This includes OCASI, SPNO, ONN, DNN, NDSDC, Durham/York Welcome Centres, Durham Region, ONPHA, Durham UWay, Durham Community Foundation and Durham Municipalities.
  • Handle all login credentials with strict confidentiality, following CDCD’s data protection and security protocols.
Staff Training 
  • Design and deliver social media training on engaging clients, crafting concise messages, using inclusive visuals, and creating impactful content.
  • Support staff and departments in understanding and applying digital communication best practices.
  • Provide training on how to best utilize the developed guides and/or library of templates to help departments maintain consistency in messaging and branding.
Fundraising Campaigns & Donor Engagement
  • Plan and execute online fundraising campaigns and other donor-related initiatives using CanadaHelps, including campaign setup, promotion, and performance tracking.
  • Manage donation forms, campaign pages, and donor communications through CanadaHelps to ensure a seamless donor experience.
  • Maintain donor databases and email lists, and support stewardship efforts through personalized communications including thank you notes, impact updates, and event coordination.
Analytics & Optimization
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports to Executive Director on website and social media analytics to evaluate user engagement, traffic trends, and content performance, providing insights to guide digital strategy and improvements, improve user experience, and support the growth of the organization’s online community.
  • Use data to optimize content, improve engagement, and inform future marketing campaign strategies.
  • Monitor, analyze and report on fundraising performance metrics to identify trends, measure campaign effectiveness, and support data-driven decision-making in monthly and annual reports.
The job incumbent may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in digital marketing, fundraising, or nonprofit communications.
  • Proficiency with digital tools such as Mailchimp, Canva, WordPress, Google Analytics, and major social media platforms.
  • Familiarity with CanadaHelps or similar online fundraising platforms is an asset.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for design and detail.
  • Experience in creating engaging digital content and visually compelling flyers using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite etc.
  • Experience with SEO, paid advertising (Google Ads, Meta), or video editing tools.
  • Experience in content creation, including video production, with a strong focus on creativity, storytelling, and visual impact.
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and donor engagement strategies.
  • Familiarity with accessibility and inclusivity best practices in digital content.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Works effectively with cross-functional teams while effectively managing competing priorities.
  • Creative and innovative thinker with a strong ability to develop engaging content.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 

Additional Requirements
  • The Digital Marketing & Fundraising Coordinator will work out of an office environment and will be required to lift up to 20 lbs. Prolonged sitting is required.
  • The Digital Marketing & Fundraising Coordinator will need to be flexible in the case of attending evening and/or weekend meetings and events as required.
  • A valid Ontario driver's license (Class G), use of a vehicle and insurance with the ability to work in a variety of settings is an asset.
  • Successful candidate must provide an acceptable vulnerable sector check prior to commencing employment.
