Zaden Tech is on the lookout for a talented Electrical Engineer to become part of our dynamic team, focusing on the engineering of launch vehicle-centric hardware from inception through to launch and retrofit operations. This role involves engaging in hardware development across multiple technical baselines, alongside planning for operations, design engineering, ground support development, analysis, testing, integration, and launch or retrofit operations.

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in enabling both tactical and flight test launches through our hardware and software products. These products are essential for a range of interceptor lifecycle activities, including emplacement, maintenance, and upgrades. It's critical that our product architecture remains flexible to support various interceptor types and scalable to accommodate extensive missile fields with a diverse fleet.

Job Duties Include:

  • Performing analysis, electrical design engineering, and testing on complex projects, ensuring alignment with internal and external requirements for launch vehicle system and vehicle subsystem design.
  • Leading the design review process, including preparation and presentation of electrical engineering materials, while also tackling complex design criteria with innovative solutions.
  • Conducting qualification and characterization testing, troubleshooting, analyzing test data, and identifying performance trends for continuous improvement.
  • Engaging in active participation in team decisions, showing a commitment to quality customer service, and maintaining an open line of communication for customer needs.
  • Deriving requirements from various sources, assessing risks associated with designs, and participating in impact assessments for projects and procured equipment, always prioritizing safety.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5 years of experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM field with 3 years of experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security clearance.
  • Experience with electrical component, EGSE, or subsystem design, test, integration, and deployment.
  • Proficiency in electrical engineering standards, component design, and impact assessment.
  • Willingness to travel at least 10% and support full-time in-person work in a secured environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance or higher.
  • Experience with engineering documentation, addressing nonconformances, root cause analysis, and mentoring team members.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for data analysis, LabVIEW programming, and familiarity with National Instruments products.
  • Exposure to classified or cybersecurity-regulated test systems and telemetry systems, along with experience in mission and safety critical systems.
  • Knowledge of Missile Defense Agency standards, MIL-STDs, and familiarity with GMD domain and launch support systems.

A Day in the Life Of:

In this role, you will contribute to the development of electrical component designs, supporting the creation and evaluation of impact assessments, and ensuring adherence to program procedures. Your involvement will include participating in Agile environment activities, attending scrum meetings, and documenting progress, all under the guidance of senior Electrical Engineers.
