Entry Level Laboratory Soils/Materials Technician

Ninyo and Moore, Geotechnical and Environmental Sciences Consultants, has an an immediate need for an Entry Level Laboratory Soils/Materials Technician in its San Jose, CA location. The successful candidate will learn to perform standard test methods for laboratory testing (ASTM, CTM, AASHTO). Duties include, performing laboratory tests, maintaining proper and complete laboratory data, and calculation of laboratory test results. Laboratory test methods include, but are not limited to, maximum soils density, sieve analysis, sand equivalent, hydrometer, concrete, grout, and mortar compressive strength, and concrete flexural strength.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a high school degree with college course work or degree and an understanding of the construction industry.

Required Skills: Candidate should have excellent mathematical, verbal and written communication skills, a positive attitude, good organizational skills, and a strong work ethic. Must have a current valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
