Entry Level Tax Preparer

Job Summary

• Our tax service firm is looking for a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our growing team. The Tax Preparer will be responsible for communicating with clients about the tax preparation process, setting appointments, and assisting with tax preparation and filing. Our company handles personal state and federal returns, and provides commercial tax support to small businesses. If you have experience with Tax Preparation, please contact us today. This would be a great position for a college student currently studying in Accounting. We are located in Waller, TX.

General Accountabilities

• Advise clients in the tax preparation process and prepare and file tax documents.
• Examines accounts and records and computes taxes owed according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations.
• Completes forms for tax refunds.
• Advises management regarding effects of business activities on taxes, and on strategies for minimizing tax liability.
• Ensures that organization complies taxing authority requirements.
• Organizes and maintains tax records and conducts tax studies and special projects.
• Ensure the confidentiality of each client by following all company procedures regarding information handling.
• Take incoming calls from clients to answer tax questions and set up tax preparation appointments.

Job Qualifications

• Education: Must have taken accounting and tax classes in college. Associates degree in accounting or a related field. Or must be a college student studying in Accounting.
• Experience: Appropriate certifications with 1-2 years of related experience

We are a non-smoking company. We are also a Christian based company.

Part-Time. 15-20 hours a week.  If employee remains until the end of tax season, a bonus will be given. This position could turn into Part-Time or Full-Time if you are willing to do bookeeping during the "off-season".
