Maintenance Worker 1 (seasonal)

The Maintenance Worker – Level 1 plays a key support role in maintaining the overall cleanliness and basic functionality of Club facilities. This position performs a variety of housekeeping, preventative maintenance, and groundskeeping duties under the supervision and direction of the House & Grounds Manager. This role will end on or around September 30^th 2025.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Perform general cleaning of facility areas (indoors and outdoors), including sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, and surface disinfection

·        Support daily readiness of squash courts, tennis courts, and fitness areas by cleaning, restocking, and checking for safe operation

·        Assist with minor repairs such as changing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, painting touch-ups, and reporting larger issues

·        Maintain tidy and functional staff and public areas, including locker rooms, change rooms, and pool surrounds

·        Monitor and replenish supplies of cleaning materials, restroom products, and other essentials

·        Operate basic hand tools and maintenance equipment safely and responsibly

·        Set up and take down furniture or equipment for Club events and activities as directed

·        Maintain clear and safe walkways, entrances, and exits year-round (including snow and leaf removal)

·        Respond promptly to maintenance requests or safety hazards during shifts

·        Participate in seasonal maintenance tasks, including minor landscaping, power washing, and pool cleaning

·        Communicate any observed facility issues or safety concerns to the Manager on Duty or House & Grounds Manager

·        Assist with parking management or member support in parking as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

·        Some experience in custodial, facilities, or maintenance work preferred

·        Comfort using basic hand tools and cleaning equipment

·        Ability to work independently and follow instructions

·        Physically fit and able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders, and work in outdoor conditions

·        Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious

·        Willingness to work shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
