Manage Golden West Casino’s overall marketing and strategic planning programs, and corporate communications.  Facilitate player development through marketing and customer services programs. Works directly with the Casino designated staff to ensure Poker Parties, Fundraisers, Off-Site Events, and Banquets are promoted effectively and run in a cost efficient manner to increase profitability and generate new revenue.  Coordinate with Agency to ensure the effective and efficient management of the Advertising, Promotional Marketing, Social Marketing, Digital Marketing and Public Relations activities supporting Golden West Casino.  The Marketing Manager performs and manages multiple tasks simultaneously and must work well under pressure.

 

Major Responsibilities:  

  1. Plans and/or coordinates upcoming promotions, tournaments, and special events for the casino.    Maintains a 12-month Marketing Calendar to communicate casino activities to all employees and Corporate Office.
  2. Analyzes promotions, tournaments, and special events to determine effectiveness and assesses whether it benefits Golden West Casino to participate in future.
  3. Develops and tracks all budgetary information including distribution.  Tracks and monitors spending.
  4. Achieves internal consensus and provides clear direction to partner Agency and internal resources for the development of all outreach programs.
  5. Works closely with partner Agency and internal resources to establish and maintain consistent Casino image throughout all support communications and events.
  6. Assist Casino General Manager and Director of Gaming Operations with compilation of all materials necessary for DOJ compliance or renewals for promotions and tournaments.
  7. Advises and assists with development and content of Golden West Casino’s website.
  8. Coordinates with partner Agency and manages production and delivery of publications, including brochures, flyers, posters, direct mail promotions, calendars, and other marketing support materials. Designs, and produces materials as required.
  9. Participates in the development and implementation of on-floor promotional campaigns; oversees visual merchandising including all holiday decorations and Casino celebration activities.
  10. Coordinates marketing efforts with local Bakersfield area businesses and trade associations including hotels, food & beverage venues, to develop cross marketing opportunities for Golden West Casino.
  11. Reviews upcoming local events, at least 90 days in advance, and recommending participation and level of involvement by our company.
  12. Attends and participates in community events. 
  13. Develops and maintains a comprehensive list of press, media, and community communication mediums. Writes and publishes press releases as needed to promote Golden West Casino and/or announce special events.  Recommends and assists in producing, and distributing press kits, feature stories, calendar listings, public service announcements, and other items for all sponsored events.
  14. Performs all other work-related duties as assigned by the GWC General Manager and the Casino ownership team.

 

Qualifications:

 Must have a high level of both verbal and written communicational skills.  Strong consulting abilities to advise, influence, and make recommendations on the basis of solid reasoning and expertise.  The ability of working harmoniously with co-workers and assures an environment, which emphasizes cooperation, communications and teamwork with all Casino departments and outside resources.  Provides a superior level of customer service, performance and personal appearance consistent with Golden West Casino’s policies, procedures, and Mission and Values.

 Work Experience:  5-years of comparable marketing experience preferably in a position managing a marketing or advertising function or department.  Proven success in the many facets of marketing, budgeting, financial planning, and program execution and management. 

 Education:  Bachelor’s degree or above in Business or Marketing and/or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
