Mobile Equipment Mechanic

Location: Derwood, MD

Located at the Montgomery County Solid Waste Transfer Station in Derwood MD, we seek a dedicated individual to be responsible for the inspection, preventative maintenance and repair of the Mobile Equipment fleet consisting of Gantry Cranes, Intermodal Container Handlers, Stationary Compactors, Track Dozers, Rubber Tire Front-end Loaders, Excavators, Skid Steer Loaders, Fork Lifts, Trucks, Straight Chassis, Tipping Chassis, Walking Floor Trailers, and Intermodal Containers.
In addition, this individual will provide secondary support for the maintenance and repair of similar Mobile Equipment located at the Montgomery County Resource Recovery Facility in Dickerson, MD.

REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this position, you must have a High School Diploma/GED, a valid driver’s license, and demonstrated experience with heavy diesel equipment.
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in the repair of industrial mobile equipment and diesel engines.
This position requires the employee to supply their own tools. Desired experience, skills and abilities include:

• Inspection, troubleshooting and repair of diesel and gas powered Mobile Equipment and Heavy Equipment
• Repair and troubleshooting of Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems
• Repair and troubleshooting of HVAC Systems
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work weekends and nights as needed
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Welding and fabricating experience a plus

Salary information: Mobile Equipment Mechanic @ $30.38/hr. (entry level). The salary goes to $32.17 after a minimum of 12 months of demonstrated satisfactory performance.
