Part-Time Subway Sandwich Artist - Leander, TX
Destiny Foods, Inc., a franchise owner of Subway is looking for part-time employees at their Leander, TX location The employees will need to be available to open and/or close the store and handle opening and closing responsibilities. Employees need to understand that if hired for one location does not mean they will remain in that location but may be assigned to other stores that will be within the vicinity of the store assigned. This includes assisting other stores as needs arise.Â
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sandwich Artist® greets and serves guests, prepares the product, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, and handles or processes light paperwork. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner while greeting customers and preparing their orders.
- Ability to work in any area of the restaurant when needed.
- Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains to customers accurately.
- Operates and uses Point of Sale system/cash register to record orders and compute the amount of the bill. Collects payment from customers and makes the appropriate change.
- Performs Cash-In Procedure- accounting for all forms of money, bread & Carriers during the assigned shift.
- Prepares food neatly, according to formula, and in a timely manner.
- Checks products in the sandwich unit area and restocks items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift.
- Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety, and sanitation standards during food preparation, service and clean up.
- Cleans and maintains all areas of the restaurant to promote a clean image. Understands and adheres to the 3-step method for cleaning.
- Understands and adheres to all quality standards, formulas and procedures as outlined in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual.
- Maintains a professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual.
- Performs light paperwork duties as assigned.
- Completes University of SUBWAY® courses as directed.
 PRE-REQUISITES
 Education: Some high school or equivalent.
 Experience: Experience in a Quick Service Restaurant is desired but not required.Â
 Skills:
- Must be able to understand written and verbal instruction.
- Must be able to communicate with customers and provide exceptional customer service.
- Must be able to use Point of System (POS).
- Ability to work in a team environment and establish professional working relationships.
- Adaptable to a changing environment and high volume shifts due to customer demands.
- Must be able to obtain a Texas Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days of hire.
Physical: Position requires bending, twisting, standing, use of hands, repetitive tasks, and walking the entire shift. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
