Production & Operations Coordinator
Be the Connection That Keeps Work Moving.
A customer needs a quote. Material needs to be sourced. A job is moving through production. A vendor needs an answer. A shipment needs to get out the door.
At Bridge Machine, we're looking for a Production & Operations Coordinator who enjoys being at the centre of it all.
This is a hands-on operations role for someone who understands manufacturing and likes variety. You'll work across customers, vendors, production, quoting, reporting, and shipping and receiving to help keep jobs organized and moving from inquiry through delivery.
Some of your day will be spent at a computer. Some will be spent talking with customers and suppliers. And some will be spent on the shop floor making sure the team has what it needs.
If you like understanding the whole operation — not just one piece of it — this could be a great fit.
Bridge Machine specializes in machining, hydraulic cylinder repair, manufacturing, and rebuild services for demanding industrial applications.
We're also proud to be part of the Boundary group of companies — a Canadian group of specialized industrial businesses supporting the mining, heavy equipment, manufacturing, and resource sectors across Canada and around the world.
What You'll Do
You'll help connect the different pieces of our operation and keep information, materials, and jobs moving.
Your responsibilities will include:
Customers & QuotingRespond to customer inquiries and requests
Assist with preparing quotes and estimates
Gather information required to accurately quote work
Follow up on quotes, orders, timelines, and job status
Communicate professionally with customers throughout the process
Help ensure customer commitments and requirements are clearly understood
Help coordinate jobs as they move through the shop
Support production scheduling and changing priorities
Monitor work orders, job status, materials, and due dates
Follow up on outstanding requirements that could impact production
Communicate priorities and updates between the office and shop floor
Help identify issues early and work with the team to keep jobs moving
Communicate with suppliers and outside service providers
Obtain pricing, availability, and lead-time information
Assist with purchasing and sourcing materials and services
Follow up on outstanding orders and delivery commitments
Help ensure required materials are available when production needs them
Maintain accurate job and operational information
Update ERP/MRP systems and internal records
Prepare and maintain production and operational reports
Assist with work orders, purchase information, documentation, and job records
Use Excel, Outlook, and other systems to keep information organized and accessible
This isn't a desk-only position.
You'll also:
Support shipping and receiving as required
Receive, verify, and prepare materials and components for shipment
Coordinate freight, couriers, and shipping documentation
Operate a forklift and overhead crane to safely move materials and components
Assist with material handling throughout the shop
Safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Step in and support the team wherever needed to keep the operation moving
What You Bring
There isn't one perfect career path into this position.
You may currently work in production coordination, supply chain, purchasing, manufacturing customer service, inside sales, estimating, logistics, or shipping and receiving and be ready for broader responsibility.
Ideally, you'll bring:
3–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, machining, fabrication, or industrial environment
A good understanding of how work and materials move through a manufacturing operation
Experience in several of the following:
Production coordination or planning
Quoting or estimating
Purchasing or procurement
Customer service or inside sales
Vendor and supplier coordination
Shipping and receiving
Inventory or material coordination
Strong organizational and follow-up skills
Confidence communicating directly with customers, suppliers, and shop employees
Experience with ERP/MRP systems or similar manufacturing software
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation
The ability to manage changing priorities without losing track of the details
Comfort working in both an office and active shop environment
Forklift and overhead crane experience are assets. Training can be provided for the right candidate.
Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, Logistics, Manufacturing/Engineering Technology, or a related field is an asset — but it isn't mandatory.
For us, relevant manufacturing experience, capability, and attitude matter.
Who Will Do Well Here?
You're organized, but you're also practical.
You don't want to spend your entire career working on one small piece of the operation. You want to understand how the customer, materials, suppliers, production, and delivery all connect.
When a job is falling behind, you follow up.
When a supplier hasn't responded, you call.
When a customer needs an update, you get the information.
When the shop needs a hand, you're willing to step in.
You're comfortable asking questions, solving problems, and taking ownership rather than waiting for someone to tell you what to do next.
Most importantly, you're someone your teammates can count on.
Why This Role?
This is an opportunity to build experience across the full manufacturing cycle:
Customer Inquiry → Quoting → Vendors & Materials → Production → Delivery
Rather than being limited to one function, you'll gain exposure to multiple areas of the business and work directly with the people responsible for getting work through the shop and into our customers' hands.
For someone building a career in manufacturing, supply chain, or operations, that creates valuable experience and the opportunity to grow into broader responsibilities over time.
Why Bridge Machine?
At Bridge Machine, you'll work in an environment where you can see the connection between the decisions made in the office and the work happening on the shop floor.
You'll have the opportunity to:
Work directly with customers, vendors, and experienced tradespeople
Learn more about machining, hydraulic repair, and heavy industrial manufacturing
Build experience across production, supply chain, quoting, and operations
Take meaningful ownership of your work
Work in a role where every day can bring a different challenge
Grow your manufacturing and operational knowledge
Be part of the broader Boundary group of companies
Being part of Boundary provides the strength and opportunities of a growing group of specialized industrial businesses while maintaining the hands-on environment and team culture of Bridge Machine.
Compensation
$65,000–$80,000 per year, depending on manufacturing experience, technical knowledge, and the breadth of experience you bring to the role.
We recognize that candidates may come to us through different career paths. Compensation will reflect the level of experience and capability you bring across production, quoting, supply chain, customer/vendor coordination, and manufacturing operations.
Ready for More Than One Piece of the Operation?
If you're already working in manufacturing and you're ready for an opportunity to broaden your experience, take on more responsibility, and understand the business from customer inquiry through final delivery, we'd like to hear from you.
Bring your organization. Bring your initiative. Bring your willingness to learn the whole operation.
Apply today and build your next chapter with Bridge Machine and the Boundary group of companies.
