Job Summary
The Tax Property Research Specialist oversees the efficient gathering and accurate reporting of time-sensitive real estate tax information within multi-state geographic regions. The Tax Processor ensures accurate tax reporting and information are maintained on the FBTM system. The Tax Processor communicates unusual tax office circumstances or requirements that could endanger the timely reporting or posting of real estate tax information.
- The Research specialist is responsible for new loan/asset, parcel, and jurisdiction file setup, with corresponding documentation. It is the responsibility of the Research Specialist to validate and identify all real estate parcels and various taxing entities that property is attached to. This may involve legal description, parcel, property location address, and/or property name that will be provided by the client. Research may require mapping tool and online search engine with the possibly of contacting the jurisdiction offices (tax collector, county recorder, assessor, etc…).
Research Specialist needs to be a strong team player within the company and are responsible to complete the entire process of research within deadlines established by the SLA (Service Level Agreement).
This job takes place in an office setting and is full time, although duties may vary depending on the needs of the employer.
General Accountabilities
- Thorough knowledge of tax searching methods for agencies within the assigned region.
- Collects and enters data and scan document into the FBTM system
- Works with the real estate jurisdictions
- Perform extensive primary and secondary legal description, parcel, property address, and property name research.
- Works with the Jurisdiction department to ensure that all active agencies had been reviewed and updated 30-60 days prior to all due dates, communicating any update, as necessary
- Coordinates change of address request according to taxing agency guideline and specific client requirements.
- Responds to client request in a timely manner
- Identify, communicate and resolve issues during loan (parcel) setup to management and client.
- Analyze and synthesize research findings to develop insights and strategic recommendations for our client.
Job Qualifications
- 3 year of real estate tax experience (preferred)
- College Graduate (Preferred)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with ability to communicate with a variety of internal personal and external clients
- Knowledge of Jurisdiction Parcel Mapping
- Be able to read, understand, legal description
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Data entry accuracy
- Work with tax collector and understand the often complicated processes involved with the delinquent and sold tax process for each delinquency, in order to accurately communicate with FBTM and Client
- Must be good with Numbers

Salary Range
$36,000.00 -$46,000.00 Chicago Average $38,230.00
Hours 8: am – 5:00 pm unpaid lunch hour
