Who We Are:
Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum and offers visitors a chance to experience life in Western Canada from the 1860s to the early 1950s. The park features historical buildings, costumed interpreters, working antiques, and various exhibits that provide insight into the region's past. 


Job Overview:

The Travel Trade Assistant role assists with tourism sales, bookings, and familiarization tours while maintaining client communications and administrative systems. This position also supports on-site experience as a costumed greeter or tour guide and coordinates with internal teams. It plays a key role in promoting Heritage Park’s offerings and ensuring an engaging, organized, and welcoming environment for group visitors.

Responsibilities:

Travel Trade Support
  • Supports familiarization (FAM) site tours as assigned to promote Heritage Park offerings.
  • Assists with Group Tourism sales, bookings, and coordination under supervision.
  • Maintains communication with Tour Operator clients and internal departments regarding booking details, with oversight.
  • Assists in updating and maintaining the Change Order documentation as required.
  • Responds to client inquiries via phone and email as directed.
  • Organizes and maintains filing systems for Tourism-related documents.
  • Updates and manages databases for client relationship management and industry contacts.
  • Serves as a costumed greeter and/or tour guide on occasion, as needed.
  • Coordinates with the Interpretation team to schedule tour guides and ensure coverage.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of secondary school education is required; Enrolment in or completion of post-secondary education in Hospitality and Tourism or related is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Hospitality and Tourism is required; Experience within Travel Trade is an asset
  • Ability to communicate in additional languages is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with database or CRM systems is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail in both administrative tasks and client interactions.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills in a client-facing setting
  • All successful candidates (over 18) will be required to undergo a Criminal Record Check as a condition of employment. 
Special Clothing and Equipment:
  • Appropriate costuming and safety equipment will be provided by Heritage Park; and
  • Footwear, as designated by the Heritage Park Costume Department, will be provided by the employee.
Hours of Work:
  • The standard hours for this position are 20 hours per week;  
  • Occasional holiday, evening, and weekend work may be required
