Controller-Security Pro
Security Pro 24/7, a thriving and fast-growing company located in Bloomington, IN, with a strong people culture, is seeking a Controller to occupy a key role in our business and financial operations. Reporting to the VP, the Controller will be responsible for oversight of all accounting and reporting activities. This is a hands-on role with the Controller leading as well as performing day-to-day accounting responsibilities and managing the accounting support team. The Controller will ensure that Security Pro has the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and timely financial reports.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting activities ensuring compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures
- Manage accounting operations, tax, and financial reporting
- Direct the daily activities for GL, AP, AR, revenue, and payroll
- Manage the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, inter-company, cost allocations, and other balance sheet and P&L accounts.
- Prepare, review and issue financial statements
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls and processes to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, the integrity of corporate data, and safeguarding of assets
- Manage accounting policies and procedures and lead efforts to change initiatives and process improvements
- Supervise and develop a strong, performance-oriented accounting team, capable of actively and effectively engaging and growing with the business
- Manage local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings
- Manage monthly financial reporting package for banking partners
- Manage banking, tax stakeholders, audit and insurance relationships along with the corresponding compliance and the reporting process for each
- Lead annual financial audits and manage financial statement footnote disclosure
- Evaluate new technical accounting developments and recommend appropriate actions; drive process improvement at all levels of the organization
- Support annual budgeting and planning process
- Work alongside other departments on various projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting emphasis highly preferred, but not required
- 5+ years progressive experience in Accounting management roles
- Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting
- Track record of building, developing, and leading high-performance accounting teams
- Ability to work independently without considerable oversight, and to act decisively
- Experience in designing and implementing accounting processes and controls
- Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills
- Analytical; High attention to detail, organized with exceptional time-management skills
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels in the organization
