GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Chroma Systems Solutions, Inc. is a leading designer and manufacturer of power testing instruments and systems including programmable AC Power Source and DC Power Supplies, AC loads and DC Electronic Loads, Digital Power Meters and Automated Testing Systems for applications in LED Lighting, Led Drivers, Aerospace, Defense, Military, Automotive, Medical, Battery, Solar, Marine, and Regulatory Testing.
The Field Support Engineer is responsible for providing world class on-site assistance to one of our
main customers. He will be responsible for supporting installations, hardware/software troubleshooting, and coordinate the repair of ATE power measurement systems. Activities are to be accomplished per management directives and in compliance with Chroma Systems Solutions’ policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Act as Chroma’s primary representative/ambassador embedded within the customer’s organization
• Manage the customer’s changing set of priorities with diplomacy, flexibility and clear communication
• Provide on-site hardware and software troubleshooting and repair diagnosis of ATE power measurement systems and instruments
• Interpret schematics and apply electronic theory to customer issues involving Chroma power test equipment
• Document, track and regularly report open issues and course of action taken in resolution
• Analyze and interpret PowerPro software test programs to aid in troubleshooting
• Handle customer phone calls and provide over-the-phone troubleshooting and replication of customer setup to ascertain problem
· Create Repair RMAs as required
• Resolve customer issues assigned to them via customer requests for technical assistance within the prescribed resolution time or escalating it when all ideas are exhausted
• Become proficient with Chroma’s PowerPro test system automation software application
QUALIFICATIONS
• BSEE with 3+ years’ experience preferred
• Professional level verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to self-manage, be proactive and manage time effectively
• Hands-on experience using Test and Measurement equipment
• Electrical/electronic theory knowledge
• Logical approach to problem solving
• Understanding of Test Engineering methodology
• Proficient in MS Office
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES
This is a non-supervisory position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
General office skills and dexterity are required. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
