HR Generalist

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Senior Human Resources Generalist will assist in managing the day to day operations of the human resources office. The Senior Human Resources Generalist must have the skills and human resources knowledge to support day-to-day operations with a proven track record of working independently, communicating well and being highly organized. Must be a self-starter and have the ability to prioritize effectively in the midst of competing priorities. Confidentiality, professionalism, and positive "can-do" attitude are of utmost importance. The Senior Human Resources Generalist will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes quality, productivity, high standards, continuous improvement and the recruiting and ongoing development of a superior workforce. This role will perform specialized tasks for human resource related programs, policies, and initiatives in the following functions: recruiting, benefits, employment, compensation, training and employee relations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • HRIS processing, including payroll processing
    • Benefits Administration (including, billing reconciliation, and research and recommendations to enhance existing benefits platform)
    • File maintenance, including file audits and updates
    • Monthly reporting of HR analytical metrics and recommendations on how to improve these metrics
    • Recruiting administration, tracking and logistics
    • Maintain a working knowledge of federal and state laws and regs, advise and make recommendations of any changes affecting policies, procedures, postings, and handbook
    • Conduct annual salary and benefits surveys and provide research and pay studies to ensure competitive industry wages
    • Identify and inform management of potential issues in the workplace and assist with employee relations issues as needed
    • Assist in department and company development and training initiatives to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company
    • Familiarity with Government Contracting


Requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices are required, as well as experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other human resources programs
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment is required
  • Excellent verbal and written skills are required
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality required
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills required
  • Degree in Human Resources (or related field) or equivalent experience in the field of human resources required
  • Specialized training in employment law, payroll/compensation, organizational planning or development, employee relations, and benefits/ACA preferred
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred
