Position Summary:

The Buyer II will be responsible for strategically sourcing materials, components, and services for the production of medical devices, as well as managing supplier relationships and driving cost savings initiatives while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize cost savings, quality, and supplier performance.
  • Source and procure materials, components, and services required for production ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Evaluate Demand and MRP for accuracy and creates an effective purchasing plan.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and assessments to assess capabilities, capacity, and performance.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms while mitigating risks.
  • Manage supplier relationships and resolve issues or concerns related to quality, delivery, and performance.
  • Prepare reports on purchase activity and supplier performance.
  • Review purchase requisitions and create purchase orders in accordance with established procedures.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and assessments to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to identify sourcing needs and specifications.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting procurement practices in the medical device industry.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in the medical device, healthcare, or electronics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards applicable to medical device manufacturing (e.g., FDA regulations, ISO standards).
  • Proven track record of successful supplier management and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing, contract management, and cost analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English with professional verbal and written communication skills.
