Office Operations / HR ManagerWe are currently seeking an experienced Office Operations / HR Manager to join our team in Washington, DC.About Us:Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) is a non-profit, academic consortium that operates facilities to support research in seismology (https://www.iris.edu). Our busy 25-person headquarters office located in Washington, D.C. needs a reliable, well-organized Office Operations / HR Manager to handle day-to-day operations with a focus on efficiency and time management. The Office Operations / HR Manager has a dual-role involving a full spectrum of office management and human resource responsibilities. The Office Operations / HR Manager is responsible for the management of the IRIS headquarter office, including the office lease, office equipment and supplies, office IT, making purchasing requests, and maintaining the IRIS Operations Manual and policy website. The Office Operations / HR Manager is also responsible for supervising an HR-generalist/administrator and overseeing the following HR functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment / employment and employment law compliance. Job Summary:The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, who will work well as part of the IRIS senior management team. The candidate should be corporate culture-focused, bringing enthusiasm to the office and offering new ideas and approaches. Job Responsibilities:• Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the IRIS Headquarters Office • Responsible for management of the office space, including the office lease, tenant issues, maintenance and alteration of office areas, as well as layout, arrangement and housekeeping of office facilities and arranging internal office moves• Responsible for the purchase and maintenance of office equipment, including printers, copiers, fax machines, video conferencing equipment, in accordance with company purchasing policies and budgetary restrictions. • Maintains IRIS Operations Manual, policy website, and policies on Google Docs• Oversees administration of various human resource strategies and procedures for all company personnel in conjunction with senior management and our Professional Employer Organization, ADP TotalSource.• Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.• Manages interactions with ADP TotalSource and maintains contracts with outside vendors.• Maintains IRIS Employee Handbook and assures compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. • Oversees annual HR calendar – goal reviews, annual salary review, open benefit enrollment, and holiday schedule, leads monthly HR meetings with HR Committee• Fiduciary for IRIS retirement program. Is interface with 403(b) provider and with the third party administrator; files the annual 5500 report; provides required notifications to plan participants.• Provides support to the Benefits Committee assuring that semi-annual meetings are planned and conducted and recommendations are provided to the President • Oversees the recruitment and on-boarding of new employees.• Maintains company organizational charts and the employee directory. • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of IRIS. • Participates as needed in special IRIS projects.RequirementsEducation and Experience:• Bachelor’s degree (B.
