Position Summary:
Netchex is seeking a full-time Network and Computer Systems Administrator to organize, install, and support the company’s computer systems, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), WiFi networks, and other data communication systems. This position will also be responsible for monitoring, managing and maintaining Windows/Linux servers, virtual environments, Windows/Mac workstations, and various mobile devices to ensure secure, robust, and efficient operations on a daily basis.
Supervisory/ Managerial Responsibilities:
This position will be required to supervise IT Help Desk Support Specialist(s) and will require the ability to manage projects from planning to completion.
Essential Functions:
• Provide network and system administration, configuration, management, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure that all systems are operational and secure.
• Collect data in order to evaluate and optimize network and system performance.
• Monitor system resource utilization and trending for future capacity planning.
• Perform hardware upgrades and software patches to servers and clients
• Develop, maintain, and monitor procedures for all server backups as well as backups of other important resources in the network.
• Regularly test the integrity of backups by designing and implementing disaster recovery plans for IT resources.
• Perform network administration tasks including maintaining security baseline, upgrading software and hardware components, and maintaining configuration backups.
• Document network / system topologies
• Utilize change management procedures to add and remove users from a network and assign and update security permissions on the network.
• Supervise IT Help Desk Support Specialist(s) and provide technical support to computer users in troubleshooting and solving network, systems, PC, and other peripheral equipment-related issues.
• Provide remote support and assistance to employees in satellite offices
• Maintain content-management database to ensure accurate inventory of IT resources
• Stay current on the latest technology trends and innovation to provide insight into strategic and tactical decisions surrounding virtualization, storage, backups, wireless, telecommunications, infrastructure, business continuity and other technical systems as needed.
• Document internal procedures.
• Recommend procedure modifications or improvements.
• Interface and coordinate with other information technology and information security team members
Job Specifications:
• BS in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years professional experience
