This is an Outstanding opportunity to join one of the fastest growing trucking companies in the Southeast as a Procedure Operations Manager in Richmond, VA. Requires a minimum of 3 years of recent driver manager experience. Responsible for directing, coordinating and supervising the activities of dedicated drivers. Requires the ability to multi-task with a proven ability to make quick and logical decisions. Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively supervise and motivate truck drivers. QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma; some college preferred
- 3 – 5 years of experience in a truckload environment
- General Knowledge of Excel, Power Point, Word and Microsoft Access
- Travel as needed
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the daily operations of drivers at the dedicated operation sites.
- Coordinates hiring, discipline and terminating employment for drivers and staff in coordination with appropriate Transport personnel.
- Provides weekly billing, driver payroll, driver logs, etc. to appropriate Transport personnel
- Supervises, schedules and trains drivers, supervisors and any other personnel as needed.
- Serves as point of contact for Internal and External Customers.
- Serves as on-site Transport Customer Service Representative to the customer.
- Provides management reports to appropriate managers at customer sites and to outside carriers.
- Serves as liaison to off site services.
- Provides management reports of all off site locations.
- Coordinates equipment needs with customers and outside carriers.
- Significant external contact with carriers and IP customers
- Required to be very responsive to the emails
- Manage daily non-Dedicated IP paper work requirements (Shipping Talley’s / Shipping Forms)
- Daily oversight to make sure the prior days loads are being picked up by assigned carriers as scheduled.
- Monitoring IP’s “KIWI” system for next day(s) forecasted load volume
- Monitoring IP’s “Box” system – IP’s internal billing / BOL system for loads that are ready
- Updates shipping manager on which carriers are assigned to each shipment
- Tenders all loads to carriers via email
- Monitors carriers acceptance / rejection of tendered load
- Re-tenders rejected loads to the next carrier in line on the routing guide
- Schedules shipments with customers
- Assigns loads to dedicated drivers and works with appropriate load planner(s) to coordinate backhauls
- Tracks to make sure drivers are on schedule for customer deliveries
- Schedules backhaul deliveries if required
- Manages all issues with spotters and local shuttle drivers
- Creates weekly billing sheet
- Creates weekly driver pay sheet for spotter and shuttle drivers
- Demonstrates support to the Transport System, Inc. Quality Management System and its objectives, as applicable.
- Other duties may be assigned.
