Sylver Consulting is looking to hire an Market Research & Consumer Insights Manager who has the skill, knowhow and organization to successfully and efficiently manage and execute research projects. We’d like to speak to people with proven success in managing mid- to large-scale research projects and delivering actionable recommendations that support innovation and new product development initiatives.

 Position: Market Research & Consumer Insights Manager

Commencement: ASAP

Location: Evanston, IL. This position is located in an office with skilled and motivated research professionals working together in a supportive team environment.

Compensation: In addition to a base salary, you will receive 401(k) eligibility, an annual health insurance allowance and performance bonuses.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (customer insights, innovation research, design research, market research, anthropology, cultural studies, psychology and business administration). Preferably a graduate degree in a related field or MBA.

Requirements:

  • Experience must include 7+ years of consumer insights, design research or market research experience. Prior experience managing innovation and new product development research projects is a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of multiple research methods, inclusive of ethnography; remote research techniques, such as online qualitative and customer journaling; focus groups; IDIs; dyads/triads; semiotics; co-creation sessions; listening labs; moderation; quantitative methodologies; and market sizing.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesis data to deliver actionable recommendations.
  • Comfort working in different research scopes, from broad, exploratory studies to narrow, evaluative studies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and research teams with ease.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, project management and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Must be available and willing to travel approximately 20% of the time.
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the U.S.
  • Foreign language skills are also advantageous.
  • Experience working in both B2B and B2C sectors is a plus.
  • Certification in and/or demonstrated success in facilitating innovation and/or ideation workshops is a plus.
  • Experience in coordinating and conducting global research or innovation programs is a plus.
  • Past design experience is also a plus.

Duties: You will manage research projects for Sylver Consulting. This means that you will take a lead, client-facing role in the project’s coordination, execution and performance in terms of schedule, quality, client expectations and budget. In this position you will:

  • Engage with clients to fully understand their business challenges, issues and objectives.
  • Respond to client research requests or RFPs by outlining a recommended research design, methodology, timing and cost estimates.
  • Plan research projects to best address client’s research and business needs within the constraints of the budget and timeline provided.
  • Design or assist with the design of research questionnaires, screeners and other key research instruments to address research objectives.
  • Oversee vendor relationships for tasks or processes that are outsourced.
  • Ensure that research is implemented in an appropriate and cost-effective manner.
  • Analyze and synthesize data to deliver actionable recommendations.
  • Develop impactful reports and presentations to communicate research findings in a convincing and engaging manner. This includes writing conclusions and identifying opportunities or recommendations that address client issues.
  • Identify and take initiative to engage and manage continued client programs.
  • Attend client meetings and presentations as needed.
  • Manage existing client relationships and support new client development activities.
  • Contribute to the company by offering ideas and suggestions for improving processes and/or services.
  • Share knowledge and experience with the Sylver Consulting staff.
  • Manage special projects as required.
