Staff Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist
Ninyo and Moore, Geotechnical and Environmental Sciences Consultants, is seeking qualified candidates for a Staff Environmental Professional position in its Greenwood Village, Colorado office. The successful candidate will work on environmental projects, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), and Remediation and Hazardous Building Materials (HBM) projects. The Staff Environmental Professional will coordinate and participate in environmental office and field activities, under the supervision of a project manager. Report preparation duties include research, data compilation and analysis, agency file review, preparation of figures and tables, drafting text to document project activities, and drafting conclusions and recommendations. Tasks may include meeting and interacting with clients, understanding client needs, assuring completion of scope, monitoring quality and schedule, and assisting with proposals. Field work will consist of site inspections, soil, groundwater and soil-vapor sampling, and drilling oversight. The selected candidate will be required to complete the OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Response (HAZWOPER) training, and the Colorado Asbestos Building Inspector course for work on HBM projects. This work includes asbestos sampling, oversight of asbestos removal and assisting in report preparation.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
Required Skills: One or more years, preferably with a technical environmental consulting firm performing duties described above. Strong writing skills are a must for this position and interviewees will be asked to submit writing samples for evaluation. The Staff Environmental Professional will have excellent verbal communication skills, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. He/she must be able to work both independently and as a team member, and have a current valid driver's license.
